It's not every day that a tech company puts its money where its mouth is, but that's exactly what happened to HARMAN, a consumer electronics company based in Stamford, Conn.
The New York Times reports on the company's philanthropic efforts, which include a scholarship fund for young women in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) careers and the JBL Quantum Changemakers Challenge, which encourages women in eSports to make their voices heard.
In a press release, HARMAN notes that it has given more than $180,000 to the 1,000 Dreams Fund and the JBL Quantum Changemakers Challenge since their inception in 2011, and that its employees around the world give back "in meaningful ways beyond the rest of the year and beyond the holiday season."
For its part, HARMAN says it is "proud of the ongoing work of our teams to contribute to our broader corporate purpose."
